Ancient Seal is a limited-time Voyage of Wonders stage available from July 5, 2021 until July 19, 2021. In order to collect the chests scattered throughout the stage, players must travel throughout the village, speaking to various villagers in order to gather tips for progression in gathering the sun, star, and moon stones to open a gate and defeat the demon behind it. Speaking to villagers also grants optional side quests, the reward for which is acorns, which can be used at the Relic Shop to purchase Relics. As enemy camps do not drop relics, it is recommended for players to complete these side quests as the camps can become quite difficult otherwise.
There is 1 crystal chest and 10 gold chests to collect.
Background[]
In those days of malevolence, three brave men - a swordsman, a mage, and a craftsman - fought to defend their home. Employing their exceptional skill and wisdom, they crushed the demon's minions, pursuing them all the way to the cavern hideout, planning on destroying the demon that threatened their home.
After the battle, the demon fell into a deep slumber, the exhausted warriors, unable to finish it off, were left with no choice but to seal it away. In order to end the threat once and for all, the mage and craftsman transformed the cave where the demon rests and established a rigorous trial. They hoped that in the future, brave individuals of considerable talent and power would be able to totally eradicate the demon scourge.
Centuries later, the exploits of those three brave men have descended into rumor, a jumble of truth and fiction falling from the mouths of drunkards. Little do they know, the demon is about to stir...

Transcript[]
[Start of level]
Raine: You sure there's treasure here?
Mirael: Not totally, but there's so many rumors in Rustport's bar, a few are bound to be legit.
Raine: You said that last time, and look how that turned out. You heard there was a vampire from some rumor in Rustport, but it was just a sailor with gingivitis. And let's not forget the time before that, and before that, too...
Mirael: I've got a gut feeling it's true this time.
Raine: You said that last time, too.
Mirael: How about we fight and the winner decides our course of action?
Raine: It's fine, there's a village ahead, we can ask around there.
[Speak to Village Chief]
Village Chief: Good adventurers, there is indeed treasure in our village.
Mirael: See! The rumors are true this time! Still, surprisingly considerate of the village to just declare it so frankly.
Raine: Extinguish that flame of yours.
Mirael: Didn't you just aim a gun at the chief?
Village Chief: (Heaves a sigh of relief) If you can defeat the demon, the treasure is yours.
Raine: Demon?
Village Chief: It's a long story... Put that gun away! I'll keep it short!
Game Log: The Chief told us that the demon sealed in the cavern outside the village is about to awaken. If we defeat the demon and retrieve proof, the Chief will give us the treasure.
To open the sealed stone door to the demon, we require three gemstones: the Sunstone, the Moonstone, and the Star stone.
[Speak to Cottage]
Woeful Man: Good adventurer, bandits robbed us just outside the village, all our belongings were taken from us, including a book that has great importance to my friend. The bandits' stronghold is not far from the village. If you can help retrieve the book and return it to my friend in town, he will reward you well!
Game Log: (Optional) Help the man retrieve a book from the bandit's lair outside the village and deliver it to his friend in town.
[Obtain Antique Book. Speak to Inn]
Scholar: Oh thank you! This book is so important to me! I am a scholar trying to restore the ancient techniques, and this book contains a great many! Check this out, a long-burn lamp. Fueled by lava, once lit it will keep burning for decades! And this...
Raine: Ahem, I'll pass. Bounty hunters deal in cash for their services.
Game Log: The lava from the volcano can ignite Long-burn Lamps.
[Speak to General Store]
Shopkeeper: Warriors, I need your help! Those damned Maulers robbed my shop! They reside by the lake under the volcano just outside of town. Get rid of them and I'll reward you!
Game Log: (Optional) Help the shopkeeper get rid of the Maulers living by the lake below the volcano outside the city.
[Defeat Mauler encampment. Return to General Store]
Shopkeeper: Thanks for getting rid of those Maulers! Please accept this token of my appreciation. Business hasn't been great lately, but I've heard you're looking for three gems, and it just so happens I have the ideal lead on the Sunstone.
Game Log: The shopkeeper offers to pay part of the reward with a clue to the whereabouts of the Sunstone. Hint to unlock Sun Cave: Successively tap on any of the pillars in a circular motion to illuminate them all.
[Speak to Explorer's Camp]
Weary Explorer: Is this the Star Stone you spoke of? I picked it up in the cavern. I went to retrieve my forefather's lost long-burn lamp, but this is all I found. You want this stone? Listen, if you can find the long-burn lamp, I will gladly give you this stone.
Mirael: A long-burn lamp? That seems to ring a bell.
Raine: The man talking in town! I think he said something about lava? Alright, we'll bring back the long-burn lamp.
Weary Explorer: Don't try fooling me with a normal lamp when you come back, the one I want burns continuously!
Game Log: Look for the lit Long-Burn Lamp and exchange it for the Star Stone.
[Access tome in Sun Cave]
Tome: Trial of Sun - Touching the corresponding crystal pillar changes the state of that pillar and neighboring pillars. A dim pillar will glow when touched, and a glowing pillar will become dim when touched. Illuminate all pillars to pass the trial.
[Access tome in Moon Cave]
Tome: Trial of the Moon - Follow the correct sequence to open the mechanism and pass the trial.
[Bring lit long-burn lamp back to Explorer's Camp]
Weary Explorer: This is indeed a long-burn lamp! The stone is all yours.
Game Log: All gems have been collected! Quickly open the mechanism and destroy the sealed demon!
[Open the mechanism and defeat Demons]
Game Log: The demon has been destroyed, present the evidence to the Chief for treasure.
Village Chief: Thank you, both of you fine heroes, for all you've done for the village. Please take this treasure, as promised.
Mirael: Can you tell us exactly what it is now?
Village Chief: The finest sword in this village. Its former owner was one of the brave warriors that originally sealed away the Hypogean.
Raine: A sword? Bullets are so much better.
Mirael: Well, whatever. At least we destroyed the demon, and we even had a heap of fun along the way! How about a drink? My treat! Now, let's go get our reward.
